State Library Visit

Several members of Kids’ Club went to the Barr-Smith Library at Adelaide University on 15/4/11 to see the Bible Society’s exhibition “The Book that Changed the World”.

Gillean Smiley, CEO of the Bible Society, South Australia very kindly (and expertly with our lively kids!) hosted our tour of the exhibition.

We saw fascinating things, including Shakespeare’s Bible, several Aboriginal language translations, including a wind-up audio version, a Braille Gospel book, and we learned lots about the history of the Bible Society’s mission to translate Bibles for everyone in our heart languages, and heard wonderful stories of the many individual Bibles on display.

At closing time, after we thanked Gillean, we went over to the Myer food hall for a break-up dinner. Yum!
Many thanks to Gillean for taking the time to guide us so wonderfully!
